Thanks for the write up and PM.
After riding a wing with a Race Tech suspension, the Limited hits like a Rock! After a 1600 mile four day weekend riding twisty's in Kerrville, She has spent two weeks going to the chiropractor and is pain, vowing to never sit on the back of this bike again unless I get the ride right.
Corbin seat is installed and I talked to George and ordered my shocks Friday. Lets hope that fixes all of the issues

A couple posts back or maybe it was one of the PMs, I said that a buddy who has Ohlins #3, #3 and I were going to ride and compare. We were finally able to do that ride a couple days ago. We each rode our own ride to get to a point where we had twisties, bumps, high and low speeds. We rode up to 75 and as low as 15 on a rocky county road. We took turns swapping bikes back and forth. It was fun to ride 5 miles, then turn around, ride back and then do the same on the other ride. We both weigh about 230 and he's about 1" taller than I am. My rear tire is my second OEM with about 2000 miles. His is a MCII with about 8K. We took everything out of the bags and pak except our tool kits.

His Impression on my bike from his perspective:
I really can't tell a difference on low speed except that it feels like your wheel doesn't react as much as I can't fell the same bumps. This isn't a bad thing but a little different for feedback. Maybe it's the tire difference.
At 30-50, I like mine better. Yours, you can feel more bumps but they are not bad, just feel my *** moving more than on mine. I did feel that yours stay better planted on those snake turns though as that one series of bumps in the middle, yours just ride over them and mine, you can feel the back shift a little.
At 50-70, I can't tell any difference at all, can you?

My Impressions on his bike:
Overall, very similar in how they work. I can feel the difference in the low speed and there seems to be a little less feeling in the back end but I agree that it could very easily be the difference in tread and tire. I could never get the rear to move around on the mid speed turns as Jim did. At high speed, I think mine handled the larger bumps better as they just felt a little softer but neither are bad.

I encouraged him to join and participate in this thread. He went through an indy for his shocks and spent quite a bit of time having them set everything up to specs.

I will end it with I think anything is better than stock and the Ohlins or Pro Action are probably the best out there in the dollar range.

Great comparison.
Both premium shocks and now have to figure which I will want.

Thank you.

I just replied to your pm. I am at 12 on the adjuster and 1 turn for 2-up and 3 turns for 2-up. I plan to try 4 turns next time I 2-up.

WORLD CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM PRO-ACTION

First off I'm a training manager and teach customer service to retail store managers. This is the best customer service I have ever received from good knowledgeable people.

Before I start in, I learned a couple of lessons:
LESSON #1-I replaced my seat with a Corbin, and replaced the shocks at the same time. THAT WAS A MISTAKE! The Corbin is Firm to say the least. So in comparison I went in one ride from air shocks and a stock seat to new shocks and an un-broken in hard seat making it impossible to compare the shocks.
LESSON #2-The previous bike was a Wing, so my wife was expecting the same kind of ride on an Ultra Limited. Not going to happen, Never. The suspension design is 100% different.

Now that thats out of the way;
I started on changing my shocks by reading this thread. I purchased shocks from Pro-Action a set of 12 inch shocks and after installing them I realized I should have ordered the 13 inch to match my bike.
I called George he shipped me a set of 13 inch shocks and covered the return shipping. No questions asked! I installed them and they were great for one rider.
I was planning a 3500 mile cross country trip two up with full gear a needed the shocks to be set up for the ride. So after doing a few test rides I called George and BJ. They worked with me through the settings for a few hours over the phone. (Make an adjustment, Go ride, see how it feels and call them back) . We thought we had it right.
Took off on the trip and realized I did't have it right, Called BJ at Pro Action and came to the conclusion that the We needed a set of stronger springs on the shocks. BJ and George wanted me to have a great experience with the product so they OVERNIGHTED a NEW set of shocks with heavier springs to my Hotel in Custer, SD! Unbelievable!
When they arrived I installed them in the parking lot, texted BJ back and forth and we got them dialed in. .
So to recap;
- We ordered shocks, they were the wrong length and Pro-Action swapped em out and covered the return shipping.
- We were struggling with the adjustments on the second set, so Pro-Action built us another set with heavier springs and overnighted them across the country and covered the return shipping.
- BJ and George spent a lot of time on the phone with me and walked me through every step.
-Shocks ride great, I have lots of adjustment left as well.

I'm pretty tough when it comes to how I'm treated and what kind of service I receive and I can be a Pain in the #r55 when it comes to the details. and they never batted an eye!
In conclusion, here's what I will say about Pro-Action;
Knowledgeable Owner and staff, Quality Product, They Listen!, Incredible do whatever it takes customer service attitude. I can't speak for the other companies, but I cannot recommend them enough. I'm a Fan!
