Default RE: FLHRCI sensitive steering ??

I put on 18' apes, now that is a different feel all together from stock. Seems to be a lot more top heavy, which makes tight turns very easy, actually. I was told that these kind of turns would be tough, but they were wrong in my case. As for your situation, I would go with the tire pressure first, heard you really gotta watch it with tubed tires and wire wheels. Then I would run it to the dealer to lube the bearing. Good luck, I am sure whatever it is is fixable and you will be out enjoying the sun in no time.

Default Similar problem

I have an electric glide ultra classic, 1995. At highway speeds, if I do a gentle slalom there is a little wiggle in the handlebars as I come back out of each gentle turn. I’m wondering whether that is normal or it could have something to do with the way the bearings or fork are adjusted. Could it be an incipient death wobble?

I understand that with a bike on a lift, when you deflect the handlebars they should return to center, go slightly past and then return to center again and that there are specifications for how much swing is allowed. Any thoughts on my situation?

It is a valid question and one which I experienced just this week. I adjusted the air pressure and it made little, if any difference. I like the bearing lube though.

Replacing the rear tire with a new one cured my RK of the issue. The old one had an edge worn in that made the bike squirm when leaned onto it.

Default Squirm

Actually, I do feel a little of that. “Squirm” is the exact word for it. I’ll check for that issue.
