Well, the weather finally got to ol Traveler, after a good washing yesterday I started to really clean it good, Rust, little pits of rust, on safety bars, and assorted other chrome parts and pieces, after 8 years and 142,000 miles, I guess it was going to happen, but I'm really disappointed in what I did, something went wrong somewhere, I'm sure I waxed it good last fall, only thing I can think of is calcium chloride that they put on the streets here, thought I waited long enough, waited for two good rains, butI guess it just happened..I'm not a wash and wax person, maybe once a month is it, but now I'm looking at either re-chrome or black powder-coat next winter

That does blow. But on the bright side, you get to buy some new stuff for the harley. What color is your bike? They can do some awsome stuff with powder coat, in all kinds of colors, and may hold up better for you in the future.
