I always shut it down in nuetral and always depress the clutch when starting even in nuetral. If parking on an incline then I will leave it in gear.
Me too. I've always been in the habit of shutting the bike off in neutural and starting with the clutch in. The only exception is when parked on a hill. Kind of like muzzle dicipline with firearms. Safety just becomes a regular habit.
I always parked my metrics in gear, but the Harley won't roll off the stand, so I park in neutral. I look at the jiffy stand every time to be sure it is locked.
Just how do you push a Harley off the Jiffy Stand?
You got me there, I just tried and I can't push it off the stand. Guess it's that's nifty little lock Harley puts on the jiffy stand.
The locking tab on the stand is nice, but not all Harleys have that tab. A buddy at work has an '05FLHT and its been in the dirt more than once from being left in neutral.
Usally in N but if Im on an incline I will leave it in first.
You can not knock one of these things off of the jiffy stand
My driveway has an incline and usally park in gear. One time I spaced and had it in N while in the drive. Was doing a little cleaning and the bike started sliding down the drive, but that stand didnt give up on its job.
In first unless in the garage. Time for you to find a new and more careful wrench. Mistakes happen but I never assume that a bike is in nuetral and always clutch when starting. Even if the nuetrallight is on .... just in case the bike is in between gears or bearly in N.
