$$$ would be the only issue for me! But if I had it to spend, I would look at an aftermarket type company. A lot of guys here swear by others over SE. That being said, if you were going the aftermarket route anyways, I would just do the 103". At some point after the 95", you would probally do it anyway. Save time and do it now. Wish I could afford it.

I'v listen to EVERYONE say go aftermarket. Does anyone care about there warranty anymore ? Why would i throw away a warranty especially the chance to have a six year warranty. Now thats GOLD to me.

Hotpursuit - I would go with the factory 103 if your bike is new. Theres a reason why Harley builds upgrades like they do and I have a strong feeling it has to do with reliability.

If you dont have a warranty, these guys are right, go for the best BANG for the buck. Good luck.

The bigger the motor the more the horsepower... which means more heat. A ride in Phoenix, Arizona in the summer you can expect heat from both. So, how much heat and what type of riding will determine your build...

I am all for saving the warranty. The piece of mind is great to me. But, I thought even with a warranty, if it was done after the point of purchase, it still voided the warranty? I may be wrong. Sadly, my warranty runs out in October. Thought about extending it out. We will see when the time gets here, what my finances are like.

Screw the warranty....most of the problems are trivial and are easily fixed. There really aren't any big problems with Harleys, it seems the biggest complaint is in the 6 speed gear noise which ain't gonna go away using straight cut gears. Annoying but not a problem to lose sleep over.
Make the bike the way you want it.

I voided my warranty at my 1000 mile service and have never worried about it once. Buying the extended warrantywas the bigest waste of $$$, I did it with my first HD and didn't need it one time. That was a waste of $899.00 that I couldn't get back becuse I did my own services and didn't take it in to the HD dealer. For the cost of the extended warranty and all the HD services up to 20,000 miles a guy could Dam near buy a new Engine for that.

I had mine up graded to the 103 before I picked it up. And I ride two up a lot so having the
extra get up and go on the highway is always nice. Ihave had no problems with my up grade to the 103 do it it's only money but well spent.

If ya can swing it, a properly setup & tuned 103 will make more power. Now, the key word is "properly".

There are plenty of 95 & 98" builds that will smoke the average 103" build. (refer to the key word above)

It's only $$$.
