I won't claim to have mastered it; technology isn't really in my wheelhouse. In fact, much of what the PV can do is WAY above my head and area of interest. That being said, I was having the exact same problem that you were, and a 45 minute run in AT in the areas where my bike was going into parade mode fixed the problem.....completely. My bike hasn't gone into parade mode since.
My bike was overheating and going into parade mode in stop and go traffic (even in the dead of winter), which is not where I had run any of my AT's prior to that. All of my AT's had been run on open road where I do most of my riding. Well, that was (as I found out) leaving out the very critical area where most heat builds up. It's important to run AT in all the areas where one will ride, and it does take some time and patience. I have found that it's worth the effort though.
I wouldn't claim that the AT is the perfect substitute over a good tune on a Dyno. It may be, and it may not be. I don't know enough to make the claim either way. I can confidently say though, that the PV with all of its capabilities is an adequate substitute for 90% of us, and that's pretty darn good. Be patient and play with it if you haven't done so.

the bike is smoother, somewhat stronger, and apparently is getting 44mpg on the p.v. Gage. So expectations have been met.
Will work with auto tune tomorrow. And see if it does anything.
I did a tuner for future upgrades. So no regrets! Lol!
