Install this kit last weekend. Good quality craftsmanship. In retrospect, a bit of overkill; and, the OEM P-clamp is less likely to scratch the chrome on the engine guard than the kit's hook clamp; your money may be better spent on something else - just my opinion, mind you.

So you'd say it's a good, solid attachment? How 'bout ease of use...getting the fairings on and off?

It actually took longer to reattach with this kit than it did with OEM; the hook clamp is cumbersome to work with while holding the lower fairing. And, the potential to marr your engine guard chrome is greater. There is no distinct advantage with this kit.

I made my own "quick release kit" that worked super & cost less than $8 in parts from a local hardware store. I have a pic of it somewhere, I will find it & post it.

I never use it anymore however, I like the lowers so much I never remove them.

Bought the kit and it was a great investment as far as I'm concerned. If you ride much at all the engine guard is going to get scratched etc... so this kit will not do any more damage. Used it right after I got when I took a trip to Atlanta last June. It was great. The lowers help on the long ride from Mass, yet when I got into the city I took the lowers off for the riding around the area. Takes no time to take on or off and makes doing service work that much easier because you can take them off quick and easy. I say go for it!
