Default Passenger floor boards?

Looking to change out the pass foot pegs to reduced reach mounts & floor boards (for the wifeys comfort) my question when backing up or coming to a stop will it effect me more due to the floor boards being bigger than the pegs, but it will rise it by 2 1/4" higher.

I have the passenger boards and reduced reach mounts. My girlfriend is 5 foot nothing. If the boards are folded down they are a pain in the calf when trying to back up. When coming to stops, depending on which boots she wears, her feet hit the back of my legs in certain situations. I've learned how to fold the boards up with the back of my legs before backing up. I'm 6'1" btw.

I have these on my bike and I have not had a problem hitting my wife's boots while riding, or the floorboards when I'm backing up. I do occasionally bump one when I am swinging my leg over to get on myself, but that's about it. And she loves them; just being able to slide her feet up or back a little she says makes a big difference in her long range riding comfort.

They don't bother me so much, I think you learn to just take smaller steps when backing up and the boards are down.

Yep, on my 12 Ultra that'll happen. Usually when backing up, I'll pull up and she'll get off. Then I can fold the foot boards up and push back as usual. If for some reason she stays on, she'll throw her legs out to the side and fold the foot boards up while I back up. Passenger foot boards can be a hassle, but there are ways to work around it. I can only imagine the noise if she came out and they were replaced with pegs. :-)

Nailed it. I have no problem moving the bike with smaller steps, but some people do.
