Not to steal the thread...However, I will be in the same predicament next week. Bought an 07 SG and the dealer is throwing in the slip-on exhaust. I get to choose from V&H Ovals or Rinehartâs. Mainly looking for a deep Harley Rumble. If it's a little loud...so be it. I have Python's on my Deuce and I love the sound. Any suggestions????
I am to pick up my 07 SG in a few hours and as part of the deal I am getting new slip on mufflers. The RUSH are on backorder for three weeks. The dealer has the Vance and Hines. What would you do?
I've never owned V&H, but I do have Rush 1.75's on my '07 SG. The sound is excellent--deep and throaty but not to loud to enjoy the stereo, along with some bark when you roll it on--and someone recently posted a dyno test here that showed excellent curves. With a stock EGC with Rush 1.75, PCIII custom tuned by Jamie at Fuel Moto, and K&N AC he achieve TQ >80 from 2200 to almost 5000 RPM's, peaking at 87. HP was 75. Those numbers looked so good to me that I had Jamie send me the map, which is now installed with my gas mileage tweaks to the cruise range. I'm not sure you can do much better on an otherwise stock engine, and I believe the Rush are much less expensive than the V&H.
I'm running Rush with 2.5 baffles and to be honest I wasnt really wild about them till I did a true dual conversion (fulsac) Now im happy as a peice of sand in a clamAnd boy did they get loud, lol. Hang out at your local dealer for a day and listen to the bikes, if you hear something you like ask them what they are running. otherwise you are gonna be switching out pipes the way I switch out hand grips and shifter pegs... (I still cant find the right ones, lol)
