it will probably be this weekend before we can check it out because of our work schedules, but we will try that first and see what happens.

The gremlin turned out to be a mouse that got up in the faring and chewed on some wires exposing the wires letting them short out! Problem fixed, thanks for all the help.

I was going to mention open it up and see if something had rubbed through but, as grbrown said, there is no way to guess that one. Had we been talking campers I would have certainly suggested looking for that but not a bike.

grbrown have you installed your ohlin front cartridges yet? if so have you done a write up?

I've heard of a pet hamster that got 'lost' in a family car, then a few days later the car wouldn't start - in fact nothing electrical would work! Little perisher had chewed itself a nest behind the instruments in amongst the wiring.......

Working on assembling the fork legs at present! More news in time here.

This was probably a rat and there was a pretty nasty nest built up in the fairing around the cigarette lighter. He made himself a pretty good home.M My brother lives out in the sticks so that happens occasionally.
