Question Road King Classic; anyone know the max width?

I'm picking up my 2001 from the buyer this Saturday and I need to make space in my crowded garage. Can someone tell me the max width of the machine? I guess that would be across the bags.

Thanks!

The footprint will depend if you are parking it on the jiffy stand or wheel chuck.

I would clear at least a 4' x 9' area

Handlebars will stick out further than the bags. Put a block of wood under the kickstand and the foot print will be smaller.

The 4' width is pretty tight. It might be good when is on the jiffy stand, but remember the footprint will shift to the right when you stand it up.

The smallest foot print will be achieved by standing the bike upright. Cheapest alternative is a block of wood, that way it can be closer to the wall when not in use.

I'll clear at least a 5x9' space, with another foot in reserve for the width. Thanks for the ideas.

Go ahead and clean out the rest of the garage while you're at it. You'll have no time for that crap once you have a Road King.
