96 road king engine light

Default 96 road king engine light
engine light goes on and off - random speeds. did the ignition, on - off thing and originally got a 32 or 33, don't remember for fuel pump relay. changed relay, light still comes on and off. unhooked battery hoping to clear code. did not work. now when checking codes, i get 3 flashes - about 4-5 second pause then 3 more flashes. this is all it continues to do. bike is running good. any suggestions? thanks

Stator could be going south. Mine did, had the same symptoms.
