A couple of weeks ago I purchased a 02 RoadKing from a stealership in my local area. I wanted to order a small bottle of touch up paint for the hard bags. I called them today and they put me on hold....after several minutes wait they told me that they aretoo busy to help me because they are having an open house, can I wait till Mondayto call them. What the heck is going on? I was willing to order from them and spend money and they couldn't take a few minutes to take my order and told me to call another day. I have neverdealt with a businesslike that. Is this a symptomof Stealers around the country? If so, Ishould of brought a Yamaha or Honda. ( not that I really would ). They actlikethey are doingyou a favor for taking your order and waiting on you. That a big WTF!!!!!!
At the closest stealer to my house most often they don't even answer the phone on anyday. I took my business to another dealer. I agree that there is no excuse for bad service regardless of where you bought your bike. If you want my money, you best treat me well...
I'd vote for another dealer as well. Then again, they may have had 'em lined 10 deep at the counter, and rather than make you wait on the phone, sounds to me like they politely asked you to call back at a time when they could better take care of you. Had they put you in line behind the others there in person before you called, would you have liked that better - or were they supposed to make the folks who were there at the counter in person before you called wait? Try to be reasonable....
I deal with 5 phones ringin at work and there is a politically currect way to handle it. answer w/in 2 rings and if have to put on hold longer then a few minutes then explain to caller, and ask to call back in 15min-30min? but call back tommow might be pushing it?..retail blows
One of my pet peeves is to be at a store or dealership or anywhere else, in person, and have to wait while the person I'm dealing with takes calls and handles customers on the phone. I made the effort to go to the place in person, nobody should be allowed to 'cut ahead' of me because they exercised their dialing finger.
Frustrating... but I think I understand where they are coming from.... I get frustrated when I am at the counter and they stop and take care of phone call inquiries.... which is worse??
Have to agree with the others saying those in the shop are first in line. I hate to wait for someone answering the phone instead of waiting on those who took the time to drive in.
