DJ,
I've got one on my '14 RK, you can see it in my sig pic. It works just fine for me, and you can remove the backrest and stuff it in your bags, as it's just a bayonet-type mount. There's about an inch or so forward/back adjustment in the mounting bracket. Mine is set all the way back, right in line with the back of the stock seat. Cost was 140 bucks from the manufacturer.
Think my grasshopper was $70, eBay, was OK, but got a mustang for a little more adjustment, thumb screw
I ordered the Grasshopper. I figure it will be better than nothing, and if I upgrade I'll likely do a whole seat and then swap the backrest then if needed.
I am doing a ride from Dallas to Four Corners later this month, and would really like a backrest, but H-D wants $250 for it, which just seems ridiculous, even by H-D standards.
What is the cheapest backrest option for a 2015 Road King, stock seat?
I bought my Kuryakyn back rest from Amazon.com. Was $152.00 shipped.
Great back rest. Comes with the mounting hard ware.
