I got the trike because I was feeling older ( MC license since 1969), felt my skills were not the same. However, trike is great highway riding on good roads, but performs poorly on back roads, get bumped around a lot with the suspension. Do a lot of back road riding, reduced my cross country rides, as for my skills will have to be more careful and slow down.

Right behind you, started in 1972. I would consider a road king as a less effort bike vs an Ultra.
