Since getting my bike I've had trouble finding neutral. Over a month ago I changed the tranny fluid to Redline Heavy Shock and the the primary to Redline MTL. This helped somewhat, but I'm still having trouble. The bike shifts great and I don't think it's my clutch adjustment, but to be honest I haven't checked it.
What's odd is that yesterday, when moving my bike in the garage, I started the bike and tried to put it in neutral but it just wouldn't go -- kept moving from 1st to 2nd. I moved the bike around and the engine probably ran a couple of minutes or so.
I waited about 20 minutes while working on the bike and tried the same thing again. This time it went into neutral EASY. I thought, well maybe it has something to do with being warm, but later when I went riding I stopped and tried it again and it would not go!
Anyone have an idea what's causing this? Clutch adjustment? I'm at a loss here. [sm=dontgetit.gif]
Ask HD MOCO I'm sure they will tell you it's normal.
when in reality it's all in your mind! lol!
Actually it several others here have noticed it too.
Personally I believe it is a maching tolerance problem along with everything
else that people complain of about this tranny.
HD doesn't want you to "accidentally" hit neutral going down the road.
so they made it real hard to engage.
But I don't have an 07 6 speed and I have my own issues with the HD.
my sporty is a little tricky. some times I have to let clutch out a little in first gear and try again. also the primary chain adjustment can cause this ive heard?
Looks like clutch adjustment is about all I've got left. Hope it's not a machining tolerance thing, and seems odd it would work sometimes and not others. Bike has about 28000 miles so you'd think it has had plenty of wear.

Thanks, voodoodrug, I'll give it a shot to see if moving the gears a little helps.
most HD owners manuals even suggest having to "rock" the bike in gear
a little to engage neutral.
My 98 fltri, 01 flhtci and 01 flhrpi and 06 flhtci mention it.
so oh well..............................
With 28000 miles on the bike I would look at the cable adjustment and the clutch adjustment. A friend on mine just experienced the same thing... easy fix... least I hope for you too..
I had the same problem with my roadking I replaced the primary gasket filled the primary oil to the right level and it shifts so much easier now. Just my findings maybe not your problem.
