Default oil light

I changed my oil before the winter, and just rolled her out to fire her up Saturday. The oil looks clean and at the right level but the oil light seems to be dimly lit. Not full bright like it is when you first turn the key, before you hit the ignition, but not off either. Is this possible or am I imagining things? What could cause this? I thought the light would be on or off.

It's an '98 FLHTCUI

Thanks

Possible short, possible faulty sending unit.
May be worth getting into a shop ASAP.
I hate stuff like that, every time you ride that light
will keep you second guessing. When you need to keep
your eyes on the road that will keep you distracted.

Where is the sending unit? Is it right under the oil filter? The thing you have to have a special oil filter wrench with the cutout to go around?
