Has anyone had to fix the three windshield screws? I was changing out the windshield for a Klockworks shield. The fittings that go into the plastic on the inner fairing were stripped and the screw just turned. Harley told me its very common and to use an Epoxy. They are going to see if its covered under ESP but i'm going to try the Epoxy first because i have a lot of riding to do. Thanks all. Sorry no Pictures i'll try to get some .
It's. Not the inside that's stripped. It's the part that going into the inner faring that is broke and won't grip the brass any longer so it just turns and screw will not tighten

The replacement part mentioned above completely replaces that factory brass piece. I'm surprised the dealer didn't sell you one.
I think he's saying the plastic that holds the brass fittings is broken. I had that on my Electra glide also. I tried epoxy and it held for a few months then the plastic gave away again from all the vibrations. I ended up drilling all the way trough the inner faring hang putting bolts with acorn nuts. I have a t-bag for my windshield so the bolt heads are hidden behind the bag. Chrome acorn nuts gave the front a nice look. I've since replaced the whole inner faring.

That's exactly what I had to do as well. Unfortunately the two surfaces from the outer fairing and inner are different enough that it left a small gap on top of the inner fairing. It isn't terrible but I notice it. I have an 07 so no flat spot as you have.
The stock insert is pressed in, but the replacement insert is threaded and is much more resistant to pulling out. As long as the insert mounts aren't broken the new inserts will solve your problem. Repairing the inner fairing is kind of hit and miss. Good luck.
