I was riding my glide and the battery light and engine light came on. Voltage dropped to 11volts. I stopped and checked the battery connection and they where tight. So now i am thinking its a stator or regulator. Or battery. Anyone ever have this issue and what was the solution. Btw just got the bike 2 weeks ago with 22001 miles. Put 200 miles since i bought it.
A couple suggestions - have the battery checked, take your VIN to a dealer and see if it ever got the regulator replaced under recall. (or register on h-d.com, it will tell you if it was repaired under the program.)
Mine did the same thing and it was the voltage regulator, unfortunately it wasn't in the group they recalled. I argued to no avail, seems like they shoulda all been replaced. Mine is a '12 also.
I had same problem on two occasions with my 12 Street Glide. First time it turned out to be a frayed wire that runs along the bottom of bike, and it shorted out off and on. Second time it was due to a bad voltage regulator.
I had the same issue on my 12 Electra Glide. On mine it was the regulator, I would hit the Regulator with a wrench and that would un-stick the Relay. And the voltage would return to normal. For me, it would always happen during the first cold start, in the morning. This went on for about a month, with the Relay sticking OPEN(not charging). hitting the regulator usually fixed(loosened the relay contact).
Then one day I was out riding and noticed that my Cruse Control was not working(would not turn on). When I looked at the Voltage Gage, and it was pegged. again I stopped and hit the regulator, and the voltage returned to normal, and the CC started to work again. Apparently the Relay stuck CLOSED this time.
After the second time, that the Regulator stuck CLOSED, I decided to replace it, and the issue went away.
I have a '12 Ultra Classic, 16,500 miles. I am on the 4th VR and 3rd battery. Harley Davidson and the dealer both say there is nothing wrong with the bike. I beg to differ. I have not been able to find out what is wrong with my bike. Unfortunately I cannot find a reputable independent shop to take a look at it.
Best of luck cause I definitely don't have it.

I have a '12 ultra and I'm on my 3rd regulator and second battery. If I have another failure I'm going with a stator and regulator from cycle electric.
