I have done a little reading back and searching - really could not find much
Now that the new liquid heads have been out - do they really make it that much cooler ??
I have an 04 FLHTCI - bought it new - back in 2009, I bought new hard lowers (adj vented type) installed them for a 6K cross country ride - got home, took them off and sold em - I found they (for me) actually made the ride warmer - even with the vents open all the way - still seemed to block air
Now its Summer 2015 - my 04 still running great but I have been thinking about a new ride - moving up to the Ultra Low or Limited Low - The Limited has the Liquid cooled heads.
I have read a few reviews but not really learning anything.
Wanted to post
here - for those that have the 2014 or 2015 Limited W/Liquid cooled heads -- How do you like them? any cooler?? how do the lowers do in HOT riding???
With tax/Lic and what ever - OTD price is close to 30K - ouch
Short answer yes, guesstimate 30+ degrees. My 05 was warm, 07 hottest bike ever, 10 and 12's warm but better, 14 resonable and cooler than the 10 and 12. Mike
my 15 tri-glide is hot, i'm knockin the cat out now. engine temp maybe not so much. i know what did make a differance was the veid's. my fans hardly kick on anymore.
I previously had a 2007 Road king (air cooled) which I replaced with my 2014 FLHTK (twin-cooled) The difference in temperature is really noticeable.
The FLHTK is much cooler. I used to roast my thighs on the Road King on hot days. With the FLHTK this does not come close to happening.
So to answer your question - a resounding YES! - twin cooling makes a huge difference in heat perceived by the rider.

That's about right on there. My new Limited runs quite a bit cooler than my 2010. And with the Wards Fan assembly, FM 2/1/2 and air cleaner my bike is super happy. I've got no heat problems.
My 14 TK runs way cooler especially after a stage one. My wife says there isn't nearly the heat on her legs as there was on my '09 ultra with a stage one.
My 2015 Limited Low definitely runs cooler than my '12, '04 and '01 Ultra Classics. Have 18k miles on it now and lots of miles in 95 degrees up to 103 degrees and not feeling much heat at all.
According to the HD Digital oil temp dipstick on my 2015 Limited , the oil runs approximately 32 degrees cooler on a hot day in same traffic route compared to my 2012 FLHX. I huge difference I can really feel in stop & go traffic! I'm very happy with that!
