I would like some feedback on the Stage ii stereo upgrade for a SG Special 2014-2015.
This is about the 3 way speakers and 300 amp amplifier, for the front fairing.
I've read some pretty negative reviews on it, has anyone had a good experience with it?
Thinking about buying it but very unsure due to all the bad reviews.
And if I don't which direction do I go?
I have subscribed to this one. I spent all weekend reading terrible reviews, of course after I ordered the boom ll speakers and amp which will be installed tomorrow on my 15 SGS. My dealership offered good reviews and success but now, I too am not so sure...
I understand where you are coming from, I have spoken to numerous Harley dealerships, they save there are no problems with the system. Yes they did have issues when it was originally launched but have corrected them.
I have heard the speakers in the shop on the display, I have heard them on a bike not moving, but never heard them or spoke with anyone who owns them.
It does scare me to purchase them based on such negative reviews. But we have little choice in what direction to go due to the Boom system.
I am planning on purchasing them tomorrow also and once delivered having my Harley dealer install them.
Let me know how it works out for you.
Do not waste the time or money on the Boom Audio products. Subpar performance and overpriced products are all that the MoCo has to offer for stereo upgrades. Cruise over to the audio section here and do a little reading on popular packages, Biketronics will be the best overall "package", or you can piece together an amp and speakers that fit your budget. Either way you go will be light years ahead of the factory or Boom setups.
I'd check out http://soundzcustomz.com I talked to Peter there via email and he answered all of my questions. If you're going to spend the money on a system, might as well be something top notch like Arc Audio and Focal. Currently I have the Boom I system on my Glide. I like it but I wear a full face. So sometimes I can hear it really well at 70+ and other times I can't. It all depends on the quality of the recording I'm listening to. You can hear stuff that sounds great when it's just sitting still but you want to know cruising at speed on the highway.
I was recently faced with the same decision . After being really disappointed with the Boom 1 system . I couldn't do it again . I went with the Biketronics 4 channel amp .. The pro 7.1 in the fearings and 6.5 in the lowers .. It's unbealievable .. Just go with the Biketronics. You won't be disappointed
Does the biketronics flash in fine? And do you still get all functions of the boom system and hand controls?
How much was your system?
I'm just looking for two fairing speakers and an amp....
