Default 14 Inch Apes on Road King

Hello, my apologies if this has been answered already or if this in the wrong area. I searched and couldn't find what I needed.

I'm looking to put 14" Wild one bars on my 2010 Road King. Can someone give me a rundown of what i'll need? So far, I know i'll need +8 cables, poly bushings, a one piece top clamp, and probably some cable clamps to keep the wires flush with the bars. Anything I missed here? Am I wrong about any of this?

Thank you.

Your 2010 should have the 1 piece clamp, did wild one recommend the plus 8s? I recommend guerrilla cable wiring extensions.

Hdbikeparts.com for the new cables and wire extension kit, wild1 for the bars and top clamp.

It's wicked simple. I've just done mine. The garage is a wreck, and the bike is torn apart due to LOTS of changes, but the wiring and cabling took an afternoon of combined time.

I think +8 may be a little too much for 14's. I rolled with +8 on 16 Carlini's, which is actually almost 17" and they were just about right. Your call, but here's a pick of my setup. I would shorten by a couple of inches.

Again, your call. I knew exactly how I wanted my cables to flow and spent some time using 12 ga electrical wire to form where I wanted the cables to run once I bolted up my apes. That's exactly where I wanted the cables and my measurements were dead nuts on when I called Magnum Shielding and ordered them. The only thing I screwed up on was the end going to the master cylinder. I spaced and did a straight banjo instead of a 90 degree. I had to send it back and have them fix it. It didn't flow with the other cables the way I wanted it to. Yes, I AM particular like that!! LOL!!

PS: And YES, my sig picture is current! LOL!! I pulled the apes off after 6 months. A couple of shoulder surgeries made apes not the most comfortable ride for me.

I just did 16" wild one reapers on my RG and plus 8 was plenty. Maybe even an inch or so too much. 6 over sounds like a better match.

Here's the link and a pic of the complete kit I bought from HD Bike Parts. (I got the socket from Advance)
