Forget buying used in Cal. Used bikes are cheaper out of State. I just bought an 11 RK with 103, cruise and abs for $8500 + $500 shipping. And, Cal taxes will not be based on actual purchase price Cant do that at a dealership.
The only issue with buying out of state is knowing that these bikes are CA certified or have more than 7500 miles on it. There is a nice sticker on the frame that says so. And if they dont see that CA compliant on the sticker than it can not be registered in CA.
The Best deal I got was the dealer in San Marcos. I live in the Bay area and bought in SoCal because they gave me the best deal. I literally saved $4000 on a road king.
Since the OP lives in Oceanside, are you dealing with the San Marcos dealer?

So my dealer has a 2014 Street Glide with 6,400 miles on it. It was first listed a $19,999 and dropped to 16,998 over the last 3 months. Went in last night to check it out. Rides great, but there is a little fading of the plastic around the radio but other than that super clean bike. Offered me $18,656 OTD. I guess my question is would there be any reason y they would go so low on this bike.
It is a buyers market right now, and the price really doesn't sound that low to me. Jmo

yes I am.
bike is all stock no aftermarket parts except 4 point harness for back rest. Asked them if they could go any lower on the bike and pretty much was told they are into it a grand already and cant go any lower. I smell BS on that one. this bike has been sitting on the floor for a while now and im sure they want to get rid of it and will probably make their money back on it when the 16's come out.
Go to the bank and get $14k cash. Walk in and throw the envelope on the counter-- you might get a big pleasant surprise. I just got this 03 with 32k on it for 5
Have you tried to find a 2014 SG at a lower price, with fewer miles ?
If they take your offer it's a fair deal, if not walk out and come back in a week, if it still
there make an offer once more. 2016 Bikes will be out at the end of this month, and the
Dealers needs to move Bikes. If that Bike is there in September start your offer even lower.
Or have them through in some options, bug the Dealer, beat them down all you can.

I would have better luck finding a leprechaun riding a unicorn than finding a 2014 cheaper. 6500 miles is not a lot of mile for an almost 2 year old bike.
