Anybody install the Tri-Bar Lighted Rear Fender Extension Kit?
Has anyone installed this on an EG yet? I'm most curious about the wiring of the light and if it is a plug-n-play with the factory light.
RE: Anybody install the Tri-Bar Lighted Rear Fender Extension Kit?
I had my dealer parts guy print out the instructions. It's pretty simple. In a nutshell, the fender tip lamp is removed. Then the chrome/rubber bumper is removed. A replacement bracket for the saddlebag to rear fender support is installed; the LED goes into the extension and the extension is mounted to the fender using the two bolts that used to attach the fender tip lamp assembly to the fender, and the bottom of the extension has a bolt that attaches to the replacement bracket. The lighting is a plug and play into the tail lamp sockets.
If you look at your bike, pop the lense off the fender tip lamp and you will see the two bolts that secure it to the fender.
Reach under the fender and you will feel the bolt that holds the bracket to the fender which extends out each side to the left and right saddlebag support rails--it has two T-40 Torx screws. That is removed and replaced with the same bracket used on the RK Custom, RG, and Street Glide. HTH.
But no, I haven't installed it; I have the FLHX fender/facia on my '04 EG. HTH
