Depends on the hand control set up you have. I had the issue as I have a Biketronics bt1005X for Sony head units. I have the only module that causes this issue. It is an older BT module. At first I thought it was how I ran the wire under the tank but after a little research I discovered that it was the specific hand control module. I unplugged the PV and took it off the bike for now. Next time I'd run the cable under the dash as well. The solution is to pull one of the wires from the stereo harness which I am not going to do.
It has to do with the high rate of information requested by the PV when in gauge mode. This extremely heavy bus traffic can cause issues with our part due to us monitoring for updates from the speed sensor - this is used for the automatic volume control function.
It is only an issue when in gauge mode, if someone is running that function all the time we can have them unplug the speed signal wire going into our part, you would not have AVC but would also not have the issue.
It usually shows up as slow to respond/buggy controls when the PV is in gauge mode.
I have not heard of any issue due to wire routing involving hand controls.
