Default Ordered PV-1, have question.

I just ordered a PV-1 for my 2013 Ultra Limited. I have a buddy that has one installed on his 2012 and he told me he has heard of issues of the handlebar audio controls not working due to interference if the PV wiring is run along the backbone of the frame with the other bike wiring.

Has anyone else heard of this or experienced this? He ran his wiring over the top of the fuel tank and under the console because of this. Couldn't one just shield the PV wiring if there was a chance of interference? And if so, how would one shield it?

Thank you for any and all help.

Bob

I think it applies if you're using an after market radio with aftermarket set up to retain your hand controls.

you don't have to run the wires inside the plastic tray - they can go under the tank. wire tie them to the horn bracket and thru the front tank mount while you are tuning the bike

I ran mine in the plastic tray under the tank. I'm using the Pro version which means two sets of wires to the PV with no problems with the radio at all.

Cool.... That's the responses I was hoping to hear. I didn't want to go to all the trouble of running the wiring in the tray and making everything look good to have an issue.

Yep it was the Biketronics hand controls radio module and PV. I got both never experience the issue. Here's a link with discussion of it.
