If it is truly your tailbone that hurts, the Cyclepedic seat might be the ticket for you.

I have the hammock seat, better than the stock but I am not impressed for me as being a super seat. I am 6' with 34 inseam and 224 lbs.

I have had the seat for about 15k miles and looking to change. It hurts my tail bone. The stock seat is a ball buster and sits me too close, I like the moving back of the hammock seat, but it is too low. I bought an air hawk, blew it up a bit and Like the height but that hurts my tailbone and I have the one with a channel in it.

Something that helped me ride a bit more was no longer wearing jeans, the point where the material comes together at the back just below the belt puts pressure on me and hurts. I now wear my Duluth fire hose pants, which don't have the bunched up seam like jeans, and I changed my underwear to Hanes that don't have a seam where one sits. Now I can ride an all of 100 miles or so before I am hurting, mostly in the hips and butt bones.

I was looking at a seat that would set me up higher, didn't have a scoop type of seat cut out (I think the seats with the scoop back are comfortable initially but when sitting the pressure pulls the material down and thus causes the back portion to flex out and put pressure on my tailbone area)

The hammock also feels too low and my knees feel slightly elevated above my hips and thus hurts my hips, and knees and puts too much pressure on my butt and not enough on my thighs and given how soft it is and sinking into the seat it just isn't working too well.

I am very disappointed as I also have the HD adjustable back rest and I really like it. Looks like I will have to give up the HD backrest, and shop for another seat, then sell the stock and the hammock and the adjustable back rest.

I am looking into perhaps going with a FLHTP seat set up, and hope that sitting me higher, and not as much material for the back when sitting on it it won't press into my tailbone.

I have heard good things about the Corbin seats and I like the idea they are harder than stock but I can't find any comments if they set you higher and move you back 1 1/2 - 2"? Seems like I still have to give up the HD adj backrest.

I got the HD Road Zeppelin. Love it. Put many long days on it & NEVER get a sore ***. I was real skeptical to buy one, but Harley has the demo seats at the dealers. Great program. I demoed one on a week end. Rode to CO. & back. I was sold. It's air adjustable, so you can very your ride immediately.
You can demo all their seats. I'd recommend try them out. I rode a stock seat for years. Never again. Especially if you do some hard riding.

Just my .02
