I had gel pads installed in my 13 limited stock seat and my tailbone still hurts bad after 50 miles. I guess I'm too heavy at 300 lbs and 6'6". Anyone found a cure for this problem? I don't care what the seat looks like I am more concerned with comfort. All suggestions are appreciated.
OP, if the rest of the seat is comfortable and its just your tail bone. There is guy in Wylie, Tx. that will notch it for your tail bone and cover with a layer of memory foam. I had a Royal Star Tour Deluxe oem seat I could do maybe 30 min. on and afterwards it was at least a 5 hour seat. I've used him twice and both times he did very good work for $45 dollars. Rick Butler 214 926-3905 You can see how he works a seat on Venturerider.org classifieds under member venders and look for Rick Butler or Butler mode. He's posted pics of what he does. Supper nice guy.
IMO it's better than my stocker but not by a lot. Mine is going in for the Mean City Cycle treatment in a couple of weeks.

Every *** has a different comfort level....I had a Mustang wide tour on the current bike and put like 70000 miles on it...thought it was the best seat until I put a Sundowner on it. I am sure there is a better seat out there but I can't play high dollar musical chair with a seat....my 700 miles days are a thing of the past now....I might try a Saddlemen someday... I like the road sofa look.
I bought one and it just fine for the wife on back but not too god for me. The air seems to push the air from my butt and moves to my jewels and does a squeeze job on them. Changing the air doesn't seem to help. I have an 03 egc with the stock seat, and the amount of curve seems to be too great. The wife does love it though, while on the back.
