Default Wix Oil Filter

Changed my oil and used a wix filter this time. Typically use HD filters but it was Sunday and the dealer was closed. Anyone noticed increased valvetrain noise with a Wix filter? My bike is a lot louder with this wix filter. Any advise is appreciated.

I use WIX57148 filter. No difference in sound that I have ever noticed, except it is always quieter when the oil is changed.

It's all in your head. Been using them for years and years. Probably a better filter than HD.

I've been using the Wix filter for the last 7 years or so. A bud and I split a case. Never had an issue.

Are you sure you put the oil in...??

JK, I'm betting all is well...maybe check the level. Also, did you change oil type?

Advice? Buy a filter in advance, then it is on hand when oil change time comes.

I'm using the Bosch 3330 filter with no problems. Under 4 bucks at Walmart. Bosch is also a top rated filter for the touring engines.

They have a WIX factory not far from me in NC. An employee told me they make most of the filters for the name brand companies just like with batteries. Most likely a lot of people are running a WIX and don't even know it.

I've used the Harley filters and changed to a WIX filter several oil changes ago. I haven't noticed any noise or other changes.

I know this any tech that puts a WIX filter on any of our equipment will be out of a job that day. Company test and records have proven they are not up to the job.
