Amazing What A Real Tune Will Do For You J&B Performance Cycles
So, I got the new RGS with the 120ST. Installed and tuned by the dealer. The did a great job with the install and all the work. They were upfront and honest letting me know they hadn't tuned a 120 yet and this would be the first one.
So fast forward to pick up day and I get the dyno sheet with a big dip in the trq curve and 115hp 125trq. Felt good riding it, but I could tell something just didn't see right. There was a lot of popping on decel and you could actually fill the dip in the trq curve.
Posted up on here with the dyno and got some mixed opinions on what could be going on. Some thought the exhaust could be wrong for the bike and others thought it was the tune.
Just picked up the bike from J&B Performance Cycles here in TN and WOW what a difference. Justin and the guys were able to clean up the curve and get her running like a top. An extra 10hp and 14trq was just sitting there waiting to be found. Simply the best mod/investment I have made so far with this bike. Couldn't imagine paying all that for an upgraded motor in the new bike, and not have it running properly with as much safe power as possible.
Just check out how much difference a good tune can make! First two dyno sheets are from the dealer. Last one is from J&B Perf Cycles.
It will actually be an even bigger gain really, because J&B's initial dyno was lower than what the dealer's dyno was. I do not remember the exact numbers they first got but it was 5 or 6 hp lower and around 10 trq lower I think.
Glad to hear another satisfied customer coming from J&B Performance shop! Justin and Brandon know their stuff and will help you no matter what. By looking at the charts there is a very significant difference and I am sure riding the bike now is different as night and day! Congrats and ride on!
Nothing worse than spending a pile of cash and have it not right.
Nothing better than having a pro get it right!
That statement is very true. Bad thing is most people (myself included) ride around not knowing how bad their tune is off. You never really now what you got until it's running right!
Just makes me think there are a lot of Stage 1 tunes out there that were done by dealers and they left a lot on the table.
