Go for it !. My buddy traded in his '09 for a new '15 RGS in Amber Whiskey. Loves it so much. However, He's still thinking about buying and putting a few more goodies then he's good to go.
Both the SG and RG are amazing bikes. It came down to personal preference for me, I liked the batwing look better than the sharknose. If you like the look of the RG more than the SG then I'd say go for the switch man!
Have you tried the freedom shield? I just ordered one. Not real happy with the KW.
Not yet, lol. It will either be the freedom or the madstad (if I can get past the looks). What size KW did you go with? My issue is I'm trying to use a shield that looks good (not too tall) and provides adequate wind protection for rider AND passenger. What works for me isn't working for my wife. Honestly, all the shields I've tried work good for me (except the Harley shields), its the wife that's getting pounded with wind. She says the wind to her face and head is really bad, so much that that she can't keep her eyes open and her glasses feel like they are going to blow off. I've also added the crash bar wind deflectors (helped a little) and have lower vented fairings on the way. Might have to just bite the bullet and buy a TALL windshield for when she rides.
