The look of a Roadie started to grow on me. My dealer has a couple of custom Road Glides and I just love the long lean look. Once I drove one, I was hooked. I like the fairing out in front instead of up in my face. I always liked the way the SG came from the factory with the mono paint, rear fender & facia, no saddle bag guards ect and when the moco did the same to the RG it was time to buy.
The looks of the 2009 SERG made me fall in love with the RG. Like TJ said I wouldn't go back to a batwing now. To me it just handles so much better. Go ride one and you will see.
That's why I won't rent or ride a RG until I am ready to buy. I realy like them now if I rent one I will have to have it. I got my SG in 07, the only RG I saw had the big oem shield, if they were sporting the low deflecter I would have bought the RG for sure.
I bought a paint set of a 2009 Screaming Eagle Road Glide so I converted my 2010 Ultra Limited. I did it for looks only, I like everything else about the bat wing.
yes sir i sure did this is my second one my first one was a 08 candy red rode for a year tranny bearing went out still had factory warranty. but i wanted a new bike so this was my chance to get one. i ended up buying a 09 SG which i went all out on bb motor 103 stage 4 wheels all kinds of stuff to much to explain. went for a longride one sunday to carson city harley 3 hour ride to go visit some friends. who also owns the dealership and i seen it the sedona orange roadie my mistake was riding it came back from a short ride and bought it. i wont say i will never buy a batwing bike again but my roadie will always be my primary bike as far as riding cross country. just got back from texas and laughlin river run 4000 miles round trip. going through those windy desserts the roadie really shined. plus there just a better looking bike.
me, I dont like fixed fairing.
feels weird when you ride. I am sure I would get used to it. I like the batwing fairing. My bike is fast as **** I don't want to go any faster. I am a highway patrol magnet as it is.

I'm old school and when Willie G. got ahold of the MOCO he when to the classic styling Harley always had before AMF. They are Big, Solid, over kill type parts and they sold like donuts at a police convention ! The Batwing in my mind is HARLEY ! Every time I see a roadie I think of a Jap bike, or that someone cut the front of a row boat off and jury-rigged it on their bike.......
