Neighbor probably didn't do it. All kind of debris hits our bikes. You definitely will not hear everything that hits your bike. Just take it as a battle-scar and enjoy the ride. Luck has it get a new tank and a week later a new dent. Just ride.
Thinking this would cause me more trouble than the dings I already have. Besides, I've seen soda cans explode in a freezer. Not sure I want to explode my tank.

Not for your situation. Harley tanks are thick. If it was a bigger dent with no hard creases and a thiner tank like on my old Triumph I'd do it. If its smaller than a dime I'd leave it be. Bigger than a quarter then try some of the dent kits out there.
