I am planning on replacing my compensator on my 2011 Street Glide (with 103 Power Pack) this winter. It is my understanding that my 2011 has an early version of the SE Comp. Can anyone confirm if the inner primary needs to come off to replace it? If so, I want to replace any seals or bearings as preventive maintenance.
It either has to come off or take a grinder to it...I used it as a good excuse to do the chrome inner. I also got a take off outer from a 2014 and thus skipped the epoxy.
If your compensator has not failed why replace it? The early SE comp is fine. I have been running it for 30k miles. Just had it apart because of an oil leak and the comp is fine.
The inner primary does not have to come off since a 2011 model already has the updated rotor used when converting a 2010 and below model to use a SE comp.
Will need to glue in the oil director to the outer primary cover.

I stand corrected. My old '08 was different but I'm just glad I was fortunate enough to get 60K outta the original comp.
