Default Waxing/Polishing your saddlebags

Just wondering for those of you that do wax and polish your bikes, do you wax/polish the whole saddlebag including the bottom and side facing inwards?? Or just the lid and sides that face out.

When I wash the bike, the bags come off and they are washed. I detail the areas covered by the bags.

Same during the polish and wax stage. Bags are off and on the padded work table. All outside areas, including chrome, are polished and waxed and buffed. The areas covered by the bags are then waxed as well. I remove the side covers and wax them while they are off the bike.

Yeah, It takes time. Better to spend time washing the Harley with soap and to wax it than to be watching the soap operas and wax sentimental.

Road King on the Dunwell jack. *** on rolling creeper seat with detailing supplies in the tray.

Do each section and roll the wheel as necessary. Long strips of cloth help to get into tight spots using the pull-pull method on each end.

Those foam rubber paint brushes from Home Depot really help to get into and clean those areas around the hub.

I do the same, take the bags off and clean it all. Takes a while but looks great when you take your time.

Sometimes I only have time for the outside of the bags. My Ultra takes alot longer then cleaning my roadking. Due to mine being Vivid Black I try and Wax the tank, fairing and outside of saddlebags when I can. With two small children taken most of my time when I am not working I dont get the time to wax like I want to. My firefighter editon Road King was much easier to clean and wax since it was red.
