I ran a PC-V on my 2012 Ultra Limited for a couple of years, and tuned it to the brink of extinction with good results. Power was on par everyplace with the PV tuner I replaced it with. Even so, tuning for fuel economy in the "normal" range you ride the bike in is a LOT easier with better results using a PV tuner. I was able to improve fuel economy from 38-39mpg's to around 45mpg's with data logging and accepting the changes to my base MAP. It's worth the extra money for the PV over the PC-V.....IMHO.....Cliff
I had the older piggy back style Power Commander III on my 05 Ultra. It worked fine. I have a Power Vision on my 13 CVO Ultra and it is better.
1. It flashes the bike so you don't have to have it on the bike if you don't want.
2. You can download new tune's if you want.
3. You can keep it mounted to the bike (I do on my handlebars) and monitor all kinds of data like engine temp, fuel use, miles, tons of options).
4. You can Auto Tune at anytime and store multiple tunes in the unit without having it connected to a PC. You can create a tune for hot or cold weather, 1 up or 2 up riding. You can reflash your bike at anytime.
5. you can connect it to a PC and save your tunes.
6. For a fee you can move the PV to another bike (I think it's 100.00 per bike)???
7. If you want to get a bit more advanced you can purchase the Pro Tune kit to perform more advanced tuning. I have not had to do this and I'm having great results with the PV.
