.....i'll play the devils advocate here and suggest it might be the charging system starting to go. possibly the start of the voltage regulator crapping out. mine used to do little stuff like that....charging light would come on for a couple of seconds just to tease then go back out. eventually, it got worse and i finally had to take it in to get fixed. like the folks said, pull the battery and go get it checked. thats the easiest first step.
Maybe a good call. I didn't notice but, that is a 12 and they had a recall on the voltage regulators. That would cause these exact issues. OP, you need to make sure you don't have one in the range...
Cleared the codes and removed the battery, had it tested and battery is fine.
Reinstalled battery but cant go for a test ride, garage door spring broke this morning, can't open door and cant get replacement until tomorrow morning. Bike started up fine and idled well. Next move?

well that really sucks....lol. 2012's had problems with their regulators, especially in the hotter areas....from the looks of it, you might be in one.....but i'm sure its a dry heat. when mine went, light would come on and the voltage meter also went down. sometimes only for a minute or two, sometimes for 50 miles or so....that isn't a good feeling. it was totally random too. no real pattern other it started doing it more often. finally took it into the dealer and had over charge codes....under charge codes.....all pointed to the regulator. good luck.

Ride it when you can and watch it. I still bet the regulator is bad. Take it to the dealer and if yours is in the range and has symptoms, they may swap it for free...See that 12 in my signature? I'm speaking from experience...
Looked up that regulator recall program and it ended in 2014. I still plan on working the dealer where I purchased the bike 4 months ago to see if they will take care of it.
Thanks for all the help.
