If I'm not mistaken, Long Ride Shields is having a 50% off sale. Their Ultra Elite is made from polycarbonate and resists scratches, as well as being more resistant to shattering.
I'm 6'0 and before I even brought my new bike home I ordered an 8" LRS. I had my bike about three days and put on a ton of miles before the parcel from Nevada arrived. I immediately put it on and took it for a ride on day 4 from owning my bike. The shield coupled with the chrome HD fork fangs makes it a total joy to ride at 80 mph. I have a very low C&C solo seat and I'm thinking when I go to the Sundowner touring seat for longer trips I might spring for an 9" LRS.
That stupid looking useless gimmicky vent is another story and a sore spot with me during the coffee time chatter lol.
I'm 6'2" and put a 7" Long Ride Shields recurve on my 15 street glide. It is nice and still looks good, however I probably should have went with an 8" as I do get a little wind around 75-80. but it is great otherwise.

I'll give you that the vent had a strange look when I first saw it, but it has grown on me.
As far as useless and gimmicky, not even close. That vent works great. So well in fact, I keep it open other than in rain. My prescription glasses shake all over the place with it closed, open they just stay put.
Also agree with Long Ride Shields. I have a 7" LRS ultra elite on my 2014 glide and love it. I'm 6'0'', so you probably want to add a couple of inches to the shield. I was going for the lowest possible shield while still giving me better wind protection. Great product, you'll dig it.
