blowing fuses
I have a 2014 Ultra Limited and I blow the hand warmer fuse. I am on my 3rd one now. They work for a while but blow when the warmers are not on. It also takes out the cb and the passing lights. So far the dealer can't find it. Anyone else haveing this problem?

examine the blowed fuse- is the fuse material spattered like it blew up and any black carbon traces- if so, you have a short circuit.
or has the fuse material simply sagged and parted- that shows a circuit overload.
tell me that...if unsure post a good clear close up pic of the blown fuse
also which circuit is the fuse on? it will be marked in the fusebox

It's the P&A 20 Amp circuit. This circuit is everywhere, Heated grips, Accessory power, Power outlets, PA Audio & CB, OE and PA switch Packs, Accessory connector 4A. Power originates at the P&A fuse and goes through the P&A relay. Aux Lamp power comes from BCM.
Have you added anything to the Accessory switch, changed bars or have something plugged into accessory connector 4A under the left side cover?

mkguitar, I threw away the fuse but I think it melted through without any splatter.
vernal, The bike is completely stock. i have not used any of the external ports.

look at the next fuse that blows as that will tell us if you need to methodically go through the wiring harness and connections- which is onerous.
or if it is simply an overload of the correctly rated fuse.

So the fuse blows when the hand warmers are off?

This type of thing could be hard to fix. If I were looking at it, I would turn things on and start wiggling wires, and try to get it to blow. Inspect the wires carefully. Maybe start taking things off. If the hand warmers aren't on when it blows, that would be an indication that it would likely be something else.

yup, but by looking at the fuse and knowing if it is a short or overload- you could save a weekend of wire wiggling in the case of an overload.
I don;t have heated grips ( arizona)...but I would look at the controller - if they use a potentiometer if could be shorting internally.
