ok, just got a 2015 road glide standard last night. The first question or thing I have noted,

Its a bitch getting it shifted to neutral when stopped at a light or in my case at the security check point at the job. I have read on other threads that this goes away with time or when I do the 1000 mile service. Has anyone else experienced this?

All that you've read is true. Trust that it will get better...and IT WILL get much easier as you get the bike broken in.

I have found (with my 15' SGS) it is also easier if the bike is still moving a little, or rock it back and forth a little to make finding neutral a little easier

I don't know whether it was time or the oils that I used at the 1000 mile service, but it went away.

It gets better over time , like above post rocking back and forth or moving a little makes it easier to find neutral

I find using my heel is easier to find neutral for me.

the tranny was designed so that N could be found shifting UP from 1...not down from 2.

I have older bikes- maybe they changed something...maybe not.
as this point, that's what I do, because it works on all my bikes...with the heel shifter

difficult shifting may be a sign of incorrect primary chain tension and/or clutch adjustment...if the clutch is dragging when disengaged

2.) safety says leave in gear at stops with left foot down, rt foot on rear brake.
that way you are ready to move if in danger of being rear ended.
that's from the MSF course

I still struggle with my '09 that has almost 40k on it. very touchy...but i do find it's easier to come in from 2nd than 1st...which is probably wrong, but it works.

the heal shifter did make it easier, but that fell off somewhere in southern minnesota...and i haven't replaced.

Get an adjustable shift linkage and it will slide into neutral like butter. My glide (2013) was still a bitch to get in neutral after 10000 miles. I put an adjustable linkage on and it never happened again.

My 2013 owners manual says you can get neutral from 1st or 2nd gear. Not like old 4 & 5 speeds which were from 1st only.
