I also had the problem. I live way out inthe boonies and on a dirt road. My situation was that I had 5 back surgeries and can't ride for long distances so I figured there would be times that I would want to go away for a week or so and with that decided.... my best bet would be the 10X6 trailer It's all set up for a bike and is as easy as can be to just run her right up inside everyday. I do leave the top vent open for air circulation and believe it to be a great investment. After having it I found another great thing about it. Whenever I need to take her to the shop I just take her in that and then when they're done they call me and I just go pick'er up with the trailer. Sometimes they have'er in there for 5-6 hours so it frees me up BIG TIME. One last thing,....get good locks. Not only for the doors but for the hitch to. Good Luck in your decision...........
It's a bike not a baby...it's not going to catch a cold. Get a good cover and the best lock you can find. Don't just put a lock on the bike, make sureyou chain it to something solid, tree, house, pit bull...sink an i-bolt into the ground with concrete. When I lived in barracks and apartments, I could only park outside. Relax and enjoy it, don't fret over it. Ride safe.
I just picked up an 07 FLHTC today. It will spend every day outside. Like others have said, it's either that or no bike.
My other bikes were dual sports. A little dirt or a few scratches made them look good so I'd throw a cover on them. The new bike is a little too nice. I just ordered a Cycle Shell (www.cycleshell.com). It looks like a good compromise. The bike is off the ground and nothing touches it when it's closed. I'll know first hand once I get it.
I knew a guy that did the trailer thing and he had signs made for it that said "LIVE TEXAS RATTLESNAKE EXHIBIT". He could leave that thing parked in the mall parking lot unlocked and no one would touch it..
If its covered good,,, well some condensation.ide look for a porch too? Ive had mixed experience in my days . seen bikes start to rust in strange places after being left out for 2 to 30 days.Depends, is this bike a road warrior or a conversation piece
