I have two local indy's so I am going to talk to both. I know the one mainly likes to use SE parts and I obviously am trying not to use SE parts haha. I will see what the other one has to say about my setup and go from there. If all else fails I don't see why me and my one good riding/wrenching buddy cant do it.

I don't know what Indy's you plan on but another one in your area is:
GMS Racing Engines
Uniontown, Pa.
Greg & Damon are good to deal with and some down home good guys.
Oh ok thanks for the info, McClains Jam Cycle is only a few miles up the road from me and one in Greensburg called Knucklehead Cycle Works are the two I was thinking of.
I was aware of their product and forgot to mention the Woods cams. I am going with an upgraded cam plate and oil pump, lifters, pushrods, and the hydraulic tensioners to go along with the roller chain setup. The only Harley parts that I will be using is the sprockets and roller chains in my cam chest. So overall I believe I am upgrading everything possible. It may be a little pricey but in my mind and wallet very well worth it.
Ok, here goes, I did the S&S TC3 Plate, and pump, watch the youtube video Proving it.....that is what sold me. I also did not just put a bandaid on with going with the "upgrade Kit" which uses the stamped style chain on the inner tensioner which wears down to the piston....I went with Andrews conversion cams, and now my bike is set up just like the newer bikes with roller chains that basically stop wearing in at the rollers.
With this kit I don't believe gear drive is needed/better....I think gear drive is old hat, and not the be all end all ...anymore...
I went with the Andrews 21 conversion cam, and I used zippers red shift tensioners, this motor is the quietest 95" with a cam that I have ever heard.
holds about 25 psi HOT oil pressure at idle, and 40 psi on the highway.
Not to mention after inspecting the oil pump before installing , it looks like this thing could take 12-15 thousandths of run out of the crank, and I am not kidding at all about this. I have seen fueling pumps wasted with 3 thousandths run out.
In short , I am very glad I had the S&S pump and plate put in, and I could not be happier.
As far as anyone calling the S&S stuff junk has no clue, as the plate is rebuild able, and the pump is the best looking , and well thought out pump the guy that installed has ever seen, with screens in the intake of the pump, as well as the way the geroters are shaped.
Could you email me a list of what all you used.. my 05 softail has gotten very loud and I had one Harley shop tell me s&s doesnt have the parts needed go with se n use precision tune etc.. I want to simply make my 88 twin cam a 95" with hydro tensioners and the kits I've found all come with the 585 Ecams.. dont want just a kit I want this done right so I can lead my groups on rides at our annual rally and not hear my chains and lifters
Let me mention primary chain tensioners.
For the 06 and older SE offers an automatic chain tensioner. Then in 07 the bikes came with automatic chain tensioners, and they sold a SE manual primary chain tensioner. Somehow something seems odd.
Well I'm looking into options for upgrading my 88" twin cam to a big bore... so went to jpcycles and found
A kit that s&s makes its roller push rods 100" jugs oil pump and plate lifter rods and 585E cams...
Has anyone used this set up and do you know if these are good cams for the performance upgrade.
My local shops tells me s&s doesnt match with any tuners and I need to stick with the 95" stage 4 SE
Package they sell however I believe SE is overpriced for the quality and if I just do the cam conversion kit
They come with 509 510 585GE 585E and I'm not real sure what the difference between these cams are
I am a ride captain for an annual rally held in mn and absolutely love my 05 Flstci but find with my wife on the back
It's a little under powered climbing the bluffs where we ride and my tensioners are getting loud so
She told me to get everything done all at once just not trying to spend a fortune to do it .. anyone who's done this upgrade or have suggestions that have worked please let me know... not as familiar with the newer fuel injection set up and what not as I grew up wrenching with my pops on a 70s model flh so newer territory here. Thanks guys!
