I have a 06 electraglide. $1600 For s&s 510 gears, cams, bearings, lifters and pushrods. Original cam plate. That is labor included at my local indy. Pulls like a freight train. Very Happy
Has there been any comparison between the 2 setups? Is there a clear winner?
To me, there is no comparison between anything made by S&S and HD. S&S wins EVERY time. I've installed a lot of S&S parts not one failure and the fit and finish is excellent. Also, if you call over to Viola WI, they answer the phone! There's a reason they've made it over 50 years in the business.
Both SE and S&S have quality products, but this is my opinion. I've used various items from both with no problems. Between the two of them when I couldn't make up my mind I leaned towards S&S.
Thanks guys. I believe my new setup will be the S&S cam plate and oil pump, red shift dual piston chain tensioners, Reaper 525 conversion cams along with the needed parts to run the roller chains.

Thanks Bill03E, I cant wait to get it all installed and hit the streets next year with a little extra grunt. That will be the last of the major mods for this bike. Just a few little things and it's on to the next build.
I just did my parts list for this upgrade including new Torrington cam bearings, the roller chain sprockets, chains, shims, red shift chain tensioners, Reaper 525 cams, S&S TC3 cam plate and oil pump, S&S Quickee push rods, S&S tappets and came up with a total of $1,714.55. Now I have to decide if I want to tackle this myself or take it to a garage for the labor as well. The piece of mind should be well worth it to know the motor will be solid for a long time now. I have slightly over 28k miles on it at the moment and may not get much more.

I had my local dealer do it, because they quoted me a price I could not refuse, and they had the master tech do it, and I know him well even trust him.
