I like the batwing fairing over the sharknose, that is what made the decision for me, considering everything else is the same.

How about Road Glide Ultra ?. The best of both worlds when you temporarily remove the Tour Pak as you convert from RGU to RG in few minutes.

Something to ponder on and about.

After riding batwings for years, I bought a new CVO Road Glide, will never go back, hands down the best riding Harley there is!

Ya, people think "just ride them both and let us know". That isn't easy in Oklahoma, the insurance laws are such that there are no rentals and only a few dealers let customers test ride their bikes for more than 10 minutes. I had to drive two hours to find a Harley dealer who would let me test their bikes for more than an hour.

If you can test ride a bike, I suggest riding it for at least an hour or more to really get a feel for it. It took that long for me to figure out that the helmet buffeting with the RG was worse than the batwing fairing. That was pre 2014, so I don't know about the new Rushmore designs.

Imo....
Buy the new road glide ultra, lower it, get the tour pack disconnect and a shorty windshield.
Now you have a Road Glide with wet heads that is a do it all.
That's my plan next spring.

Buy a Road Glide if you want to be on the most popular bike 3 years from now. They are the latest fashion trend. If you want the best looking bike, buy a Street Glide. Either way, they are both fantastic rides.

I was 90% convinced I was going with a Street Glide until I actually test rode both bike. A lot of threads are out the about how the SG is more compact and that the RG seems to favor taller riders. It seemed the opposite to me. I'm (maybe) 5'6" and the riding position of the RGS with the different bars just worked for me. Now reaching the ground on both is an entirely different story! Still working on that issue. Not sure what your current bike is but both bikes are awesome!
