I've learned the best way to attach a quick-remove windshield is to leave the screws loose, mount the windshield then snug down the screws - provides the perfect placement so those clips actually hold the windshield tightly in place.
Screw down the mounts slightly off-kilter without the windshield in place first and those clips just never really line upperfectly enough to properly lock the windshield in place. I figured this out the day I was cleaning the inside surface of my windshield and the damn thing popped right off and bounced off the driveway once before I caught it in mid flight - small chip on the edge for that...
After reading this I took off the windshield and bent the wire retainers down pretty good. Now at least they seem to hold the windshield if I try to pull it forward.
I am not sure how it would do with the helicopter blade turbulence but it may hold with a normal gust of wind.
My windshield blew off last year; I caught it before it hit the ground. You have to bend the clips to wrap around the grommet. Like the pic shows. You will not have any more trouble. If you just bend the wire down it will help but the windshield can still blow off. George
