If I do that then the sissy bar would no longer fit when I swap them out because it would then be too wide for that. The docking hardware fits fine and the sissy bar and luggage rack fit just fine, it's this 3rd party tour pak dock that doesn't which is why I asked for dimensions in the original post.

By the way it's spelled hardware not hardwear, the latter is not a word.

The detach tour pack mounts on the front and rear posts of the dock.

I'm pretty sure the front posts have a spacer that widens the nylon bushing out. The front tp mount sits in the spacer, not on the nylon. The rear latching mount rides on the bushing.

Here's a pic

Sorry, don't have a tape measure

Yeah that right there is exactly what I was doing, and on that back post it's too wide to fit on the nylon bushing.

This is a better pic of how I had it on there trying to fit: https://i.imgur.com/KA20o1B.jpg

On my '09 HD TP bracket the width from rear metal side plates across is 10". If I measure width across rear latches it's 11".

my set up '13 solo tourpac. 10" front mount centerline to centerline, 10.5" centerline to centerline.

reading the reviews on the amazon site for this item, everyone but one says it fits fine.
except the guy who was trying to slide it on to the wrong mount (the one with black plastic)

is your mounting hardware for two up or solo for the tourpac ?

Same dimensions as mine, but the tour pack mount is a bit wider than 11.5" which is what makes me wonder.

The reviews are why I bought it, but it's obviously not fitting my bike. Except now that I go back I see a review from 2 weeks ago where a guy says his was about an inch and a half too wide which sounds like mine. He says he got his in there, he must be a lot stronger than me because I can't get that thing to flex that far.

It's set up for two-up, usually have a sissy bar and luggage rack on there. Just was wanting this tour pak for longer trips.

Edit: It's actually closer to 13" wide. Will have to measure myself when I get home, friend can't find my measuring tape but is longer than some 1 foot pipe I have laying around.

You ask for help then point out spelling errors in folks' replies?
Sometimes you get what you paid for. You saved a few bucks buying third party. Your backrest/luggage rack fit the detachable mounts so the dimensions are probably correct. Maybe a local dealer will let you test fit the HD tp rack.
My bet would be third party rack is the problem.
