Any one have the KURYAKYN ADJUSTABLE PASSENGER PEGS installed? I just can't picture how these work. Do they fold completley out of the way when not in use? Are the passengers feet forward of the boards? Thanks....
They clamp onto the passenger footboard bracket. They are advertised as having 4 adjustable positions but only 2 of those are usable as footrests. The other 2 are out of the way positions.
Position 1: The peg is folded all the way backward with the peg facing the saddlebag.
Position 2: The peg is set at about a 10 o'clock position, again facing the saddlebag. This is used when a bottle holder/storage pocket is attatched to the saddlebg guard preventing the peg to be folded/stored all the way down.
Position 3:The peg is positioned at about 1 o'clock.
Position 4: The peg is positioned at about 230 o'clock.
Had them on my '01 RKC & transfered them to my '07 RG... The wife wouldn't have it any other way..
Yes they fold out of the way.... Yes they give the Pass a little fwd poss at the first level - But if they're in the full fwd poss, they will hit you in the back of the legs when ya put your feet down....
My wife really likes them.
They do swing back and out of the way completely, unless you have the water bottle or storage saddlebag bags. But they are really not in the way, they just don't go all the way back.
Far as the positions, there is three, 1) all the way back, 2) locked in the middle and 3) all the way forward.
It is a bit tight when my wife has her feet on the pegs in the forward position when I'm riding in city traffic. But she's good and she sets her feet on the floor boards durring such traffic conditions.
all and all, we like having them.
do asearch, there was a long thread about them awhile ago
the middle setting has a latch similar to a door slide bolt.
the latch will stay in the unlatch position, allowing you to have full foward or full back.
If you want to lock the middle setting while under way, just be careful because the pipe is right there.
