I was riding down the freeway today and it was like someone turned the key off. Got towed back to the house and started checking it out. no power anywhere, found a circuit breaker in front of the batter , replaced that and got all my powers back, but I do not have any spark. Did my ignition module go belly up and take out the circuit breaker? and if so where in the hell is that module at. Thank you guys for your help.
the ignition module is under the rt side cover- the crank sensor is near the oil filter poking out of the case, the ignition coil is under the gas tank
is the bike now cranking ( turning over) when you hit the starter button?
2.) all the lighting goes through the ignition switch- high wattage bulbs up front can burn out the contacts in the ignition switch- causing intermittent contact
3.) your bike has a tip over switch inboard of the ignition module- it is kinda dangling over the swingarm.
if the mounting bracket for that crack and breaks, the bike thinks it is tipped over and will turn off, like you describe on teh fwy- but the light swill stay on.
there was a recall on those for some model years incl. I think the 2k

If you have an repair manual, it will tell you how to pull & read codes. I would start there. No spark could be caused by numerous things (bad module, broken wire, bad sensors such as crank, cam & tilt, short ect ect ect) Now as for the circuit breaker going bad, what caused that might be a good place to start. Do you have any controllers on it such as a Power Commander or such? If so, try taking it out of the system. Good luck, hope this helps.
I had a similar issue with my 2000 Ultra Classic. It finally was determined that the wiring into the front fender was shorting out. After fixing the shorted wiring, no more problems.
