Brakes Squeal
Everytime I take it my bikes to the dealer, I seem to have to argue with them and usually leave very disappointed, but warranty is warranty. (They loved me when I spent over $4000 for upgrades).
Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions about the brakes. Isn't there a bulletin on noisey brakes floating around?

Squeal did eventually dissipate after a couple thousandmiles - but now at 12,000 it sounds like a flock of locusts??? I don't want to waste my time asking the stealer again.
Same feelings here overall - you're their best friend when buying parts/accessories, but try to get your money's worth in the service dept and forget about it. Dealer REFUSED to replace my dinky volume **** which fell off three times and cost $8 a crack. Evenafter spending $1440 for the extended warrantee, they said no way to the volume ****. WTF??? So I rigged something up myself and feel good about it.

Purpose
It has recently been determined that swapping and aligningthe front brake discs on motorcycles having fixed dual disc brakes can significantly reduce brake squeal.
Therefore, effective June 26, 2006, the front brake discs willbe swapped and aligned on all production motorcycles having fixed dual disc brakes. The running change moves theformer left side brake disc stamped P/N 44156-00 LEFT to the right side of the hub, and the former right side brake disc stamped P/N 44136-00 RIGHT to the left side of the hub. The vent holes are then aligned before the discs are fastened to the hub.
Also, in the interest of promoting customer satisfaction, Harley-Davidson will swap and align the front brake discs on affected motorcycles under warranty, but only when responding to customer complaints of excessive brake squeal.
Motorcycles Affected
All 2000-2006 model motorcycles, as well as those 2007 models built before June 26, 2006, having fixed dual disc brakes that exhibit excessive front brake squeal.

Floors me that the nobody caught it earlier (6 years worth, for Christ sake). Let's hope they canned the Jr. High dropout that marked the rotors wrong at the production level - dumb ***.
Actually, I believe they are mounted the way they were intended. But after so much problems with noise, MoCo found an easy and 'cheap' way for them to remedy the noise. I sure hope it does what MoCo says it will. My noise is gone (after the foam), except for a lil rubbing noise, but a service tech told me the 'swap' will eliminate most of that noise, as well.
