Is the play being discussed from front to back or inline with the shift shaft? Reason I ask is I found my 15 Ultra has a little play inline with the shift shaft and it looks like the shift arm moves and not the whole shaft.

I would say inline with the shift shaft. I literally could slide the vertical arm on the shaft itself. So facing the primary, the shift arm would slide towards the inner primary and then you could push it back towards the transmission.

PTAG,

It made a big difference in shifting. Finding neutral was so easy, just a slight movement and click its there from first or second. I completely agree with you that the bolt was never tight from the factory.

It's the arm towards the rear loose on the shaft. If yours is loose make sure and push it in before you tighten the screw. I used a allen wrench and held it with vise grips to tighten it.
